Iron on patches or heat-on patches requires the right technique to settle. And if not done accurately, you can mess it all! So it’s crucial to know how to press on patches by yourself. 

First, grab your garment on which you want to press the iron-on patch.

Step no-1

Preheat iron:

Plugin your iron and set it to the most elevated temperature (250-350 degrees Fahrenheit). Make sure the cloth you are going to use can withstand the heat of iron. That is why Cotton and Polyester are good choices. Let your iron temperature rise for five minutes.

Step no-2

It is time to position your patch!

It is the most critical part because you need to choose the right position for your iron-on patch or heat press patch. Use a measuring tape to select the location. You can see in the mirror, Is this the place you want your iron-on patch to be? If it is, then fix it there. Take your time and make sure your iron-on patch or heat-press patch is in the right place.

Step no-3

Use a Pressing cloth:

Just take a cloth you can use your hanky or any cotton cloth and place it between your iron-on patch and iron_It acts as a protective layer that protects the iron-on patch and your garment from being burnt. Now place your preheated iron on the pressing-cloth and press it for 30-45 seconds. Make sure you do not move the iron. It can change the position of your patch. So, keep your iron still on top of your patch.

Step no-4

Reverse the cloth and repeat the previous step:

 Now turn the cloth upside down. Place that pressing cloth again on the backside and place your iron on top. Keep your iron still for 30-45 seconds to fix your patch entirely.
